When you looked at me,
You didn’t see me.
Not really anyway.
No.
All you saw was my body
.The curvature of my back, my thighs, my chest, my pink lips.
It didn’t matter to you that I was wearing a blue turtle neck sweater that clung
tightly to my neck.
You could’ve cared less that I was an honor student.
A daughter.
A sister.
All you saw was a body for the taking,
regardless of the damage done.
You failed to see ME.
My soul.
My innocence.
You didn’t care.
You ripped so much more than just my blue sweater from me.
You may not have seen all of ME,
but you did take
all of me.
